    Hello doctor.. I tried the beta blockers propranolol and it was a very effective treatment, but I suffer from asthma and the discharge of phlegm from the lungs, which negatively affected lung health.. Are there natural supplements that are an alternative to the beta blockers propranolol that do not affect the phlegm and lungs?

    Dr. -are their any dangers of taking gaba supplement ( is it a safe option) with B6 - to avoid side effects from meds - i.e, any kidney/ liver or other issues with the supplement if used as directed on the bottle - not exceeding 3g per day - ( 2400 mg ) as a lower dose than that does not seem to be helping much - especially if one is 70+ age, female. Thank you for your response.

    I think I might have social anxiety. I'm not saying I have it, I'm just saying I've been showing symptoms. They started a bit after my neighbors d3ath, so maybe its about that? I can't be so sure. I told my mom about it and I'm getting tested for anxiety in a few weeks.

    I find dealing with Acrophobia difficult cause generally I'll be fine when it comes to heights so long as I am firmly planted on the ground. I can see images of high points of view like off a building or cliff just fine, I can look up at tall structures like a climbing wall just fine, I've even done well in VR when it comes to dealing with heights including an experience game where you take an elevator to the top of a skyscraper and you walk a plank to the edge of the building. This game was meant to pull on ones acrophobia but it did nothing for me. The only times I feel that fear is when I am not solidly anchored to the ground or a surface that is by extension solid like a bed. But as soon as I am up on something so much as a step ladder, acrophobia kicks in and I feel anxiety creeping up inside me. It goes away as soon as I'm on the last step and I am stepping off, and I can even go as far as to pull the step ladder back onto 2 legs while falling onto my extended foot, a practice I do regularly at work when I am to get something from a high shelf and I fold the ladder away once the item is retrieved. I'd love to be cured of my acrophobia, but outside of the level of exposure where I am at the point of no longer being anchored to the ground, I find it difficult to get past that point.

    • @AnxietyBoss
      @AnxietyBoss Рік тому

      Try some relaxation techniques to calm you after one of your exposures, such as going beyond the first step of the step ladder. Keep doing the exposures and then the relaxation techniques to calm you. Do this little by little, slowly going a little further, while calming yourself afterwards with a relaxation exercise. Soon, you will find yourself able to go far until you can vanish this for good.

    I can't tell you how much that helped me. I am a retired pastor of Women's ministries, and have never understood this phobea of mine. I have preached on these things yet never comprehended why I still carried this around. We've all gotten a good chuckle out of it but it is very real. You, have made it clear now. When I was a little girl, I was rushed to the E.R. by my parents only to have a doctor remove a Necco wafer from my throat. All the way home, I had to hear from my mother about the $100.00 they had to shell out for that. The solution I found is, if I spread peanut butter on my bread first, then soft butter on top, it slides right down. Plus dunking in milk helps me also. Yay, peanut butter! Thank You so much for your assurance, that I'm not Alone.

    Is it possible it could have the opposite effect? I just got put on this last week & my sex drive has through the roof after several months of it being almost non existent. My girlfriend almost can’t keep up with it either.

    • @AnxietyBoss
      @AnxietyBoss Рік тому

      Yes, it t is possible. The possible explanation is that treating your depression/anxiety can lift your sex drive. When you’re depressed and/or anxious, sex drive can decrease significantly. So it’s not surprising that successful treatment with Lexapro can increase your sex drive. Bravo 👏

    Is Imipramine a good choice for Severe Social Anxiety Disorder?

    • @AnxietyBoss
      @AnxietyBoss Рік тому

      Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant that has been used for the treatment of various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, and panic disorder. While it may be effective in treating some symptoms of social anxiety disorder, such as anxiety and depression, it is not considered a first-line treatment for this condition. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), such as sertraline and fluoxetine, and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), such as venlafaxine, are usually the first-line pharmacological treatments for social anxiety disorder. These medications have been extensively studied and have been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of social anxiety disorder. Imipramine, on the other hand, has been shown to have significant side effects and a higher risk of overdose than newer antidepressants. Additionally, it requires close monitoring, and its effectiveness may vary from person to person. Therefore, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate treatment for severe social anxiety disorder, taking into account individual factors such as medical history, medication history, and severity of symptoms.

    My anxiety and panic is worse if I DONT have something with sugar

    • @AnxietyBoss
      @AnxietyBoss Рік тому

      It's possible that your anxiety and panic symptoms are related to low blood sugar levels, which can be triggered by not consuming enough sugar or carbohydrates. When your blood sugar levels drop too low, your body may release stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, which can cause symptoms of anxiety and panic. Consuming sugar or carbohydrates can help raise your blood sugar levels and reduce the symptoms. However, relying on sugar to manage anxiety and panic is not a sustainable solution in the long term, as it can lead to blood sugar imbalances and other health problems. It's important to work with a healthcare professional to address the root causes of your anxiety and develop a holistic treatment plan that includes nutrition, exercise, stress management, and possibly medication or therapy.
